CyberNut
CyberNut is a security awareness training solution built exclusively for schools.

Responsibilities
- Your time will split roughly across three areas: brand activation (about 35%), community and engagement (about 35%), and brand, social media, and content (about 30%). The split will flex by quarter.
- 1. Brand activation in every district
- Buying CyberNut is not the same as being a CyberNut school. Activation is the work of making the brand visible, felt, and owned inside a district, and it looks different for a 2,000-student rural district than for a 40,000-student suburban one.
- Build an activation plan for every new customer during onboarding, alongside their Customer Success Manager: who the champion is, where the brand will show up (staff kickoff, hallways, the IT newsletter, the board meeting), which program launches first, and what the district will be proud of in 90 days.
- Track the activation level of every existing account (dormant, launched, visible, owned), review the lowest tier with Customer Success each month, and bring a plan to move each account up.
- Create and ship the activation kit: launch decks for staff meetings, mascot and poster assets, leaderboard displays for IT offices and staff lounges, email templates for superintendents and principals, and swag for the first winners.
- Run the launch moment. The first leaderboard reveal or the first trophy delivery should be an event, not an email.
- Tailor the plan to each district. A single champion IT director needs a different plan than a district with a cabinet-level sponsor. The goal is the same: staff say "we're a CyberNut school" without being prompted.
- 2. Community and engagement
- Run competitive leaderboard programs across customers: district vs. district, school vs. school, department vs. department. For example, a fall "Phish Bowl" where 25 districts compete on report rate for six weeks, with sponsored prizes and a trophy that travels.
- Design and ship recurring promotions and events: Cybersecurity Awareness Month kits, end-of-year awards, a "first 90 days" challenge for new customers, and a winter swag drop for top performers.
- Build and host customer community calls to learn which gamification loops drive the most excitement and engagement: a customer call where IT directors share what worked, and an online community space.
- Partner with Customer Success on low-engagement accounts. When participation is flat, you bring the activation play (a leaderboard launch, a principal challenge, a superintendent shout-out) instead of another reminder email.
- Make engagement visible outside the district. A school that climbs the leaderboard sees itself celebrated on CyberNut's channels the same week.
- 3. Brand ambassador, social media, and content
- You own CyberNut's social channels. We want CyberNut showing up everywhere: TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn. What Duolingo did with its owl, we want you to help us do with our squirrel.
- Own the company social accounts on TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn with a weekly content calendar you run. Marketing sets brand guidelines and campaign priorities; you create, film, and publish the day-to-day content, about 4 to 5 posts a week, most of them built from what customers are doing.
- Bring the CyberNut squirrel to life as a personality people follow, with recurring formats, trends, and moments that make the mascot recognizable well beyond our customers.
- Get on camera. Film on site at districts and conferences, try new formats, and do fun, creative things that push the brand forward.
- Own the swag program end to end: what we make, who earns it, how it ships, and the budget. Think limited editions for top performers and referrers, not giveaways for everyone.
- Show up at regional K-12 IT conferences and state ed-tech events with customers, not just a booth. For example, co-present with a customer IT director on how their district raised its report rate.
- Run public customer recognition: a monthly "CyberNut School of the Month," social shout-outs for IT directors, and a wall of fame at our booth.
- Turn every program into content. A six-week competition is six weeks of posts: launch, standings, a mid-point upset, final results, a winner interview, and the trophy delivery.
- Make customers the stars. Tag districts and IT directors, invite them to share, and give champions an ambassador kit (templates, captions, photo guidelines) so they can post without waiting on you.
- Treat social as an engagement channel: reply to comments, message champions, and celebrate a district's post within the hour.
- How success is measured
- This role is measured on outcomes, not activity. Success means more districts that are visibly and proudly engaged with CyberNut, a social presence that keeps growing, and that engagement showing up in higher report rates, stronger renewals, and more customer referrals. You will review leading indicators monthly (activation levels, program participation, report rates, social reach and engagement, and customer stories) with our CEO, VP of Marketing, and the Customer Success team.
- How you will work with the team
- Customer Success: you bring activation plans, kits, and plays for stuck accounts, plus early warning when a champion goes quiet. They share account health, renewal timing, and who the real champion is.
- Sales: you surface warm referrals and reference customers. Sales owns every commercial conversation, including expansion. When a district wants to buy something, you introduce the owner and step back.
- Marketing: you supply day-to-day social content, customer stories, case study leads, and conference co-presenters. Marketing provides brand guidelines, campaign priorities, swag design, and paid amplification of the best posts.
- Product: you bring community feedback and pilot participants. Product provides early access and roadmap previews for champions.
Qualification
- You are a TikTok and Instagram native and a natural content creator. You are not shy on camera and you are happy to do fun, creative things outside your comfort zone.
- 2+ years in community management, customer marketing, brand, content creation, or social media, ideally at a B2B or education technology company.
- A track record of running programs, events, or campaigns that measurably increased engagement, brand awareness, and activation.
- Strong writing and an eye for visual content. You can turn a customer win into a post people want to share.
- Comfort owning company social accounts on TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn, plus a content calendar.
- Excitement about frequent travel and the energy and judgment to represent CyberNut in person at conferences and customer events.
- Strong organization: you can run many districts, programs, and deadlines at once without dropping the details.
- Bonus: experience in K-12 education, with school IT teams, or in cybersecurity.
- Hundreds of school districts already trust CyberNut to protect their staff and students. You will build the community and the social brand around CyberNut from the ground up, work directly with our CEO and VP of Marketing, and see your work show up in how districts talk about us.
