Ministry of Sound
We are Ministry of Sound Group. Our brand is our greatest asset, everything we create and do must be worthy of it.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Club Director, with a dotted line into the Managing Director of Ministry of Sound Group, you'll own the brand and marketing strategy across the business, bringing together clubbing, live experiences, merchandise, memberships, partnerships, products and future growth initiatives under one clear vision.
- Working closely with our Group Head of Creative & Brand, you'll lead a team of marketing specialists, manage agency partners and oversee a significant budget, ensuring every channel, campaign and customer touchpoint contributes to audience growth, commercial performance and long-term brand value.
- This is a role for a commercially minded marketing leader who is as comfortable setting strategy as they are rolling up their sleeves to make things happen.
- You'll build a more connected, data-led approach to marketing, create alignment across internal teams and external partners, and identify new opportunities to grow one of the world's most iconic music and entertainment brands.
- You'll lead marketing across the entire Ministry of Sound ecosystem, developing strategies that drive attendance, engagement, loyalty and revenue while protecting and evolving the brand's cultural relevance.
- You'll own the marketing strategy for the club, creating campaigns that maximise ticket sales, support flagship events, residencies and special projects, and drive repeat attendance across a diverse audience spanning both new generations of clubbers and long-standing Ministry of Sound fans.
- You'll oversee audience growth, customer acquisition and retention through a connected CRM, data and performance marketing strategy. This includes email and SMS communications, audience segmentation, customer journeys, paid media, analytics and attribution, ensuring every marketing investment is measurable and commercially accountable.
- You'll lead content and social strategy across all channels, creating a consistent tone of voice, clear content pillars and a joined-up customer experience. Working with internal teams, creators and agency partners, you'll ensure content drives both brand engagement and commercial performance.
- You'll shape the future of the Ministry of Sound brand beyond the club floor, leading marketing activity across merchandise, e-commerce, licensing, products, collaborations and brand partnerships. You'll identify opportunities to create new audiences, unlock additional revenue streams and expand the reach of the brand into new markets and categories.
- You'll also lead marketing for Ministry of Sound's live experiences and touring activity, ensuring audience development, brand consistency and commercial growth across both UK and international markets while creating stronger connections between the different parts of the business.
- Partnerships will form an important part of your remit. You'll work closely with commercial teams to maximise sponsorships, strategic collaborations and licensing opportunities, ensuring every partnership strengthens both brand equity and financial performance.
- A key part of this role is transforming how marketing operates across the business.
- You'll develop a single audience strategy, consistent tone of voice and shared set of customer profiles that unite teams, partners and agencies around a common understanding of who we're speaking to and why.
- You'll strengthen our use of customer data by improving reporting, establishing a clearer view of audience behaviour and creating stronger connections between ticketing, CRM, e-commerce and marketing performance.
- You'll ensure we maximise the value of existing technology while identifying opportunities to use automation and AI to create more personalised and effective customer experiences.
- You'll continue to evolve the marketing function itself, building the right structure, introducing specialist capability where required and creating a culture focused on accountability, creativity, collaboration and results.
- You'll bring clarity to priorities, challenge unnecessary complexity and focus investment on the channels, partnerships and initiatives that deliver the greatest impact.
- Most importantly, you'll bring an entrepreneurial mindset to the business, constantly identifying opportunities for growth, testing new ideas and backing the ones that prove their value.
- You'll lead, inspire and develop a high-performing marketing team, creating an environment where people can do their best work and continue to grow their careers.
- You'll establish clear goals, accountability and development plans while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- You'll coach future leaders, build marketing capability across the organisation and help teams work together more effectively to deliver shared business objectives.
- Success will be measured through meaningful commercial outcomes rather than marketing activity alone. You'll be accountable for revenue growth across ticketing, memberships, merchandise, e-commerce and partnerships, alongside customer acquisition, retention, brand engagement and return on marketing investment.
- You'll be an experienced marketing leader with a track record of developing strategy, leading teams and delivering measurable commercial results in music, entertainment, events, hospitality, consumer brands or similar audience-led businesses.
- You'll have experience managing multi-disciplinary marketing functions spanning brand, CRM, content, social, performance marketing, e-commerce and events, alongside significant budgets and agency relationships.
- You'll be highly commercial, comfortable translating customer insight and data into growth opportunities, and able to demonstrate how your work has driven revenue, audience growth and long-term customer value.
- You'll understand the role CRM, analytics and technology play in modern marketing and know how to use them to improve customer experiences and business performance.
- Experience across ticketing, events, direct-to-consumer commerce and membership-led businesses would be advantageous.
- You'll be a confident and credible leader who can build strong relationships across teams, influence senior stakeholders and bring people with you through change.
- Most importantly, you'll combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, creative instinct with commercial rigour, and a genuine passion for music, nightlife, culture and the enduring influence of the Ministry of Sound brand.
