Company

About Kalshi The first US federally regulated exchange where you can trade on the outcome of any event. Kalshi’s historical regulatory approval from the CFTC enables it to offer a new asset class called “event contracts,” which allow traders to take positions on whether a future event will happen or not. Kalshi aims to enable investors to trade on almost anything with economic relevance from Covid numbers to whether a bill will pass in Congress, broadening the historical definition of what a commodity derivative is and paving the way for the futures market to catch up to the novel risks facing the economy today. Kalshi is backed by Sequoia, Henry Kravis, Charles Schwab, and Y Combinator.

Responsibilities

  • Kalshi has defined a new category: prediction markets. Kalshi allows people to trade on the outcome of any events and turn any question about the future into a financial asset. Kalshi fought for years and legalized prediction markets in the US for the first time in history, is currently the fastest growing financial market in America, and has thousands of markets across politics, economics, financials, weather, tech, AI, culture and more.
  • We believe prediction markets have the potential to be the largest financial market because they turn anything into a financial position.
  • Our vision: well… build the largest financial market on the planet.
  • Our mission: bring more truth to the world through the power of markets.
  • Our culture is simple: we hire really talented people, work really hard, and enjoy the climb. We are looking for ambitious and exceptional people to join our (relatively small) team to help us build the next generation of financial markets.
  • End-to-end research: Design and execute mixed-methods research across the product lifecycle. You know when to run an interview, when to run a survey, and when the answer is already in the data.
  • Shape what’s next: Partner with product and design from the earliest stage of an idea. You’ll frame problems, test concepts, run workshops, and push toward new bets, not just improve what already exists.
  • Triangulate insights: Pair what you hear with what the data shows. You interpret dashboards, define metrics, and partner closely with data science.
  • Compelling storytelling: Distill complex research into clear, actionable narratives that drive decisions across the business.
  • Build with, not for: Co-create with traders of every skill level. You’ll develop deep empathy for their workflows, motivations, and pain points.

Qualification

Science & ResearchFinance & AccountingTechnologyData & AnalyticsSoftware
  • Experience: 7+ years doing UX research in industry.
  • Speed in execution: You excel at prioritizing research in fast-moving 0→1 environments and are comfortable navigating ambiguity and knowing when to be scrappy vs. when to go deep.
  • Research craft: You know the right methodological approach for the question at hand, and you’re an expert in mixed methods.
  • Data fluency: You use behavioral and business data to sharpen research questions, interpret results, and connect insights to measurable outcomes.
  • AI-native research: AI is core to how you work, speeding up synthesis and sharpening questions, and you know where it falls short.
  • User obsession: You’re energized by talking to customers regularly and believe that understanding people is the highest-leverage thing a product team can invest in.
  • Ownership mindset: You take initiative in a self-directed environment, proactively identify what needs to be known, and drive research programs forward without waiting to be asked.
  • Salary Range: $200,000 to $250,000 annually plus equity and benefits.
  • This salary range is based on the current available market data and represents the expected salary range for this role. Kalshi has minimal hierarchy and few titles, but a broad range of experience is represented within roles. Should you have compensation expectations that exceed these bands, we'd still love to hear from you.
