Job description

Overview

  • Markets Product & Change Manager (Vice President) executes a portfolio of change initiatives across State Street Markets, bringing strong product and business knowledge to deliver strategic outcomes for our trading businesses.
  • The Markets Product & Change team covers the full change lifecycle: strategy implementation; the design, development and implementation of client-facing products, trading infrastructure and operating models; and risk oversight, metrics and reporting.
  • The successful candidate will partner closely with business leaders and business-aligned Product teams to translate strategic and tactical priorities into well-governed, effectively executed initiatives. Working with Technology, Operations and other business partners, they will drive initiatives from inception through implementation, ensuring outcomes align with our strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Why this role is important to us
  • The team you will be joining is part of State Street Markets. When owners and managers of institutional assets need research, trading, securities lending and innovative portfolio strategies, they turn to our Markets business unit. As our investment research and trading arm, State Street Markets' number one goal is to enhance and preserve our clients' portfolio values by applying technology, optimizing trading, and linking asset classes and markets across the world.
  • The Markets Product & Change team is at the forefront of implementing both change-the-bank and run-the-bank initiatives across State Street Markets. This role plays a key part in ensuring those initiatives are well-governed, effectively executed and aligned with the strategic priorities of our trading businesses.
  • What you will be responsible for
  • Drive delivery and execution of initiatives across the Markets product and change portfolio, managing scope, milestones, dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Partner with business leaders and business-aligned Product teams to understand product capabilities, trading infrastructure and operating model requirements, translating strategic objectives into clear product, change and delivery plans.
  • Steer initiatives through appropriate internal and regulatory governance, ensuring effective oversight, appropriate controls and timely decision-making.
  • Provide clear status reporting on progress, escalations and key decisions required.
  • Identify and resolve significant issues or roadblocks, working with senior management across the bank as required.
  • Contribute to the definition of product capabilities and features, developing product overviews, workflows and other artifacts to clarify requirements, usage and process ownership.
  • Help define and implement the workflows, processes and procedures required to support new or evolving business capabilities.
  • Work with Technology to deliver solutions that meet business and product requirements.
  • Manage demand across Technology and other business partners, supporting the resolution of competing priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners across Legal, Compliance, Operations, Technology, Finance, Procurement and other functions, securing alignment and engagement to support successful delivery and ensure solutions are robust and sustainable.
  • Apply strong working knowledge of the trading businesses and trading flow lifecycle to anticipate evolving business needs, support business priorities and drive effective delivery.
  • Communicate, collaborate and manage relationships effectively with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and upcoming changes arising from competitive, market and regulatory developments.
  • What we value
  • 10+ years of industry experience
  • Subject matter expertise in trading and capital markets
  • Proven experience leading large-scale change through governance frameworks
  • Demonstrated success in executing multiple projects and business initiatives simultaneously within complex organizational settings
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact, negotiate and influence at all levels of management and across the organization
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and consultative abilities
  • Bachelor's degree
