Company
About Plug Technologies Inc The future of the EV marketplace is right here. Buy and sell high-quality, used EVs though the marketplace built exclusively for electric vehicles. From first time sellers to large-scale dealers, Plug meets customers where they are in their EV journey.

Responsibilities
- We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll report to our engineering lead and own features and components within our products, working closely with senior software engineers (SSEs) on scope, architecture, and cross-system tradeoffs. We’re building systems like AI-powered pricing intelligence, real-time connectivity to vehicle manufacturer APIs, auction applications, and data pipelines that aggregate EV-specific information from dozens of sources, all to make the wholesale EV market faster, smarter, and more transparent.
- As a member of the team, you’ll help build the technical and product foundation for our growing business, with direct mentorship from senior engineers as you grow into more ownership. We’re building a culture that cares about collaboration, encourages intellectual honesty, celebrates technical excellence, and is driven by careful attention to detail and planning for the future. We believe diversity of perspective and experience are key to building great technology and a thriving team. Sounds cool? Let’s work together.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute your voice in product design sessions, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
- Design, implement, test, debug, and document work on new and existing software features, ensuring they meet business, quality, and operational needs.
- Take ownership of features, with support from SSEs on architecture or cross-system tradeoffs, understanding the ultimate goal and evaluating effort and priority in an agile environment.
- Use agentic coding tools to write clear, efficient, and maintainable code, growing your judgment on flexibility and scalability with guidance from senior engineers.
- Contribute to team productivity and process improvements.
- Use and integrate APIs to connect Plug with third-party platforms.
- Contribute to code review and pairing, and reach out to SSEs to spark good technical discussions, including how you use AI tools.
- Be an integral part of a close team of developers. This is an opportunity to grow quickly with direct mentorship from senior engineers as the team scales.
Qualification
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and delivering production applications.
- Solid proficiency in TypeScript across the full stack: backend, frontend, relational databases, and API and webhook integrations.
- Experience deploying and operating cloud-hosted applications. Comfort with CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling, with interest in infrastructure-as-code (we use Terraform) and feature flag systems.
- Comfortable working in agent-first development workflows, defining clear acceptance criteria and reviewing AI-generated output with a high quality bar.
- A strong engineering quality bar: writing tests, participating in code reviews, and producing code that is readable by both humans and AI agents.
- Track record of owning work end to end: scoping, shipping, and measuring impact, with growing autonomy.
- Startup or fast-paced team experience is a plus.
- Authorized to work in the US for any employer.
- Prior experience in automotive or EV systems is a plus.
Benefits
- Annual salary: $145,000 to $175,000
- Salary ranges reflect independent, third-party benchmarking against national compensation data. Where an individual’s actual offer falls within that range depends on a combination of factors, including relevant experience, specialized skills, training and qualifications, current business needs, and prevailing market conditions. Ranges are reviewed periodically and may be adjusted to reflect changing market conditions.
- Health, Vision, and Dental insurance
- 401(k) plan
- Daily lunch stipend
- Equity (based on role and performance)
- 30-day remote work from anywhere policy
- Fully stocked kitchen
- Dog-friendly office
- Ongoing opportunities for growth and development
